The skies, though they had been grey and stormy since the winter snows had passed, were clear to let a bright sun show through. Daine knew it wouldn't last long; in the distance, more grey rainclouds were forming. However, even this knowledge could not quash her happiness at the sight of the bright, slowing orb in the sky. The white mare stood amongst the flowers of the meadow, turning her head upward and closing her eyes to let the warmth of the rays touch her face, gently, like a long-lost lover's caress. Though Daine didn't hate rain (it was important to life, after all), she did miss the bright, sunny days spring normally brought. They were so important for the soul, after the long days of winter. Shaking her head, the pale mare lowered her head and opened brown eyes, sniffing lightly at the flowers beneath her. She wasn't hungry, though, and wouldn't damage those small beauties even if she was. Walking forward, the mare began to hum lightly, absently, a melody she'd heard somewhere before but couldn't quite place. It wasn't happy, not really. Just some pretty little thing. Maybe her mother had sung it to her before.
The young mare didn't have any purpose as she wandered the meadow, seeing an equine every once in awhile but never approaching. She hated to admit it, but she really was shy. Not when it was important - if someone was in trouble, she's throw all hints of shyness aside - but when it came to idly approaching another, she balked. Perhaps that was why she was alone, left to only her own thoughts and her little hummed song. Oh well... good things would come if they were meant to. Otherwise she would simply enjoy the little break in the rain and bask in the sunlight. Daine stopped walking, raising her head to the sun once more with a sigh.

Notes; This is open <3 Preferably to a stallion. She's gonna need a home ;D Oh, and this is the song she was humming, if you're curious.

The stallion was glad that the clouds had parted to show the brilliantly blue sky they hid; parted to show the sun. He hummed in appreciation as the sun warmed his back, walking along at a leisurely pace through the meadow. The long, emerald colored blades of grass brushed against his legs in a hushed whisper as he plodded along. His blue eyes, nearly the same colored of the clear blue sky, flickered to and fro, lazily locking onto patches of wildflowers that had cropped up in random spots in the meadow. He offhandedly thought about meandering over to one of the patches to munch on them, but he never made his way over too them. It was out of his way, and he couldn’t be bothered to put out any extra effort.
The stallion’s copper and white colored coat twitched in an attempt to drive away the pests that had begun to bother him as he meandered through the meadow. Why had he even come this way? He couldn’t pinpoint the thought in which he had decided to come haunt the meadows. Something just...drove him here. And kept driving him to keep walking. Suddenly he saw her; a white spot amongst the brightly colored flowers and emerald green grass. Intrigued, the two-toned stallion altered his course towards the mare in the distance. As he neared her, he lowered his large skull – not only out of respect – but so he could be eye level with the white mare. She was considerably shorter than he was, and he didn’t want to make her uncomfortable. “Mornin’, miss,” he spoke, his voice was gravely, and held a odd twang to it. “Would it be rude to ask why are you all alone out here?”

Though she was intent on the warmth beaming down on her, she was well aware of what was around her. She sensed the presence of the stallion; whether it was because of her prey instincts or the subtle noises her ears had missed but her body had not she didn't know. But when she opened her eyes and turned her head, he was there, just as she had expected. He was tall, much taller than her own modest height, with a bi-colored body and striking blue eyes. She shifted her position so she was fully facing him, curiosity in her warm brown eyes. He had spoken with a deep, accented voice that somehow made her want to giggle like a child. She resisted the urge, as she had not 'giggled' in over a year. Instead she smiled, a light turning of the lips. "Not at all," she said good-naturedly, body more relaxed than many mares would be in the presence of such a big male. But he didn't exude a threatening presence, somehow, and therefore she saw no reason to act wary. If something went awry, she was small and agile enough that she was fairly confident she could escape. But she couldn't see that being a necessity.
She glanced up to the clear sky for another moment. "And, well, it's such a nice day, I could hardly pass it up despite lack of companionship. I have an adventurous nature, you see." She knew this might not be an answer he would appreciate or understand, but it was how she felt, and therefore how she answered. She flicked the pale strands of her tail against her flank, stinging the equally pale coat. Her smiled remained on her face, a faint show of her easy nature. "Anyway, what about you? You don't seem the type to have trouble finding a lady friend to accompany you." Her voice was teasing, but her words rang true. He was an attractive male, strong, and that deep voice was the type that could give pleasant chills, if the right words were spoken. Daine may be young, but she was not blind to the ways of the world.

He offered the pale mare a warm smile as she answered him, visibly relaxing in his presence. He tried not to intimidate others as much as he could, though it was often hard to avoid such things. His height and frame size were the determining factors of his first impression on most others. He was tall, with a wide frame to match it. It was a nice advantage to have when the occasion called for it, but most of the time they were almost crippling attributes to have. His height and size made him rather cumbersome to get around, if a little clumsy if he wasn’t paying attention. Smaller equines had no problems darting away from him, though larger equines had a hard time catching him. His own sky colored eyes glanced up at the matching blue sky as the pale mare before him looked up as well. His gaze fell back to her when she spoke again, his head bobbing slightly in a understanding gesture to her words. He chuckled; the sound was a low, rumbling sound from deep within his wide chest. It was a comforting sound, like the rumble of distance thunder, rather than menacing. “Well, I suppose I’m out here for the very reason you are. It’s a nice day, so why waste it?” he replied honestly, offering a slight shrug like gesture with his shoulders as he explained.
The stallion offered the pale mare a sheepish grin, rather embarrassed as the topic of the fairer sex came up. “Despite your kind opinion, miss, it is rather hard for me to find a lady friend – as you so put it – who isn’t bothered by my size,” he replied, his sheepish grin falling into a slight frown. That was yet another disadvantage he had. However, his frown was short lived as he kept right on rolling with the conversation. “On the subject of companions, I was half expectin’ to be chased off by a companion of your’s.”
