Welcome to Asedenn
This land has always been here, as far as history dictates. It is a land of intrigue, romance, war, rivalry and fate. It is a land where one’s destiny may not be their own. It is a land ruled by mortals, and ruled by gods. This is the land of Asedenn. There are no humans, nor have there ever been. Horses of every kind inhabit the territories of Asedenn, and many more will follow in their footsteps after they have gone. Through history, two herds have stood out amongst the rest for their intense and deep rivalry and the devastating wars that they rage against each other. The Tritones, a large group of horses who supposedly originated from the sea, spend countless days plotting the downfall of their enemy and forging war tactics. The Anemoi, a herd of horses that are said to have come from the north wind, revel in stealing mares and are always attempting to vanquish their nemesis. Loyalties run deep between the two herds, and yet more than a few horses have been caught spying for the enemy. The cost of treason is high, and the life within these two herds is even more dangerous, but some find their place. There are horses who are independent of the life long struggle, and even those who are a part of smaller bands on the outskirts of largely claimed territory, though most of them do not remain impartial for long.
Asedenn is not only ruled by mortals. There are three powerful gods, siblings all of them, who do what they please with the population of the land. Besides the powerful three is a smattering of demigods, products of the whims of their immortal parents. Be alert and aware of the three, for they do not align themselves with anyone, and their wishes are seldom those of the mortals caught in the crosshairs.
So where will you fit in? Will you join in the struggle with one of the feuding herds? Or will you remain impartial as long as possible? And will you be one of the lucky (or unlucky) few to be visited by one of the Three? See for yourself in the Rule of Thirds.
